Joining the Starz Teaching Team

When we welcome a new teacher to our Starz team, our top priority is their ability to nurture and connect with children. While being a skilled dancer is important, we value a deep desire to share the joy of dance and a genuine affection for working with children. Many of our team members hold esteemed dance teaching qualifications, from ISTD and RAD to IDTA, as well as academic credentials such as GCSE, A-Level Dance, and Dance Degrees. While these qualifications are advantageous, they’re not essential. We provide a supportive Teacher Training Programme that equips every new member with the tools they need to succeed in our unique teaching environment.

At the heart of Starz is Cheryl, with a dedicated love of dance and the nurturing spirit of our community. Drawing on years of experience and a steadfast commitment to our values, Cheryl has cultivated a haven where creativity, growth, and connection thrive. Her role extends beyond that of a business owner or principal—Cheryl embodies the driving force behind our joyful approach to dance education.

You’ll frequently find Cheryl visiting classes, offering unwavering support to our team and pupils, ensuring that the Starz experience is infused with warmth and encouragement. And, of course, she’s always a big presence at our shows, where her passion for dance shines brightly. Be sure to say hello, as Cheryl loves to meet as many of our families in person as possible.
